Unlike most people that will blog about make up, I'm not someone that will spend loads of money on one item of make up... I like to keep it fairly cheap! I love being able to buy a lot for a little rather than buying one item when I go out. Sometimes this backfires and I really see how cheap the makeup is, however most of the stuff I end up buying is actually okay!
So this is the look I went for today...
This is a fairly natural look for me as normally I'm a huge eyeliner kind of girl, but I think this is a look that's absolutely perfect for autumn! This autumn/winter very very plain make up is a big thing so going for the more natural looks is going to be key, however over the top eyeliner is also very in which is perfect for me, eeeek:')
Anyway, like I said, I like to keep things cheap so for this look I used:
- Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer
- (I naturally have really oily eyelids so any eye makeup ends up just sitting in the creases and just looks awful, but since I've been using this primer before applying my make up, everything stays in place perfectly and doesn't go anywhere)
- Natural Collection's Concealer and Tinted Moisturiser
- (I personally don't like using foundation as it feels really heavy compared to tinted moisturiser and I also think that for just everyday looks this is enough)
- MUA Pro Base Eye Primer
- MUA Eyeshadow Palette Undress Me Too
- NYC Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil Chocolate Brown
- MUA Luxe Power Brow Fair
- Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara
- MUA Mosaic Bronzer Natural Glow Shade 1
- NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder
- MUA Fixing Mist
- {Babylips Peach Kiss}
~As you can tell I really love MUA at the moment, it's just so cheap but a fairly good quality! Also the brushes that I've been using recently are from Wilkinson's new collection and they're amazing! They're really soft and so much better than any of my other brushes!~
Here's how to do it:
Always always always moisturise before you do your makeup, otherwise it will really dry out your skin and nobody wants that:) Pop on some primer to your eyelids and any other areas where make up easily escapes. Then apply concealer under eyes and on any spots you really want to hide and blend outwards. Apply tinted moisturiser all over face and blend thoroughly so you don't get those dreaded lines round the outside of your face:) Dab some powder all over your face but focus mainly on the areas where your make up escapes to help hold it in place. If you're using the bronzer then apply along your jawline and on your temples.
I always do my eyebrows next and to do this I just follow the natural line of my brows and try and make them look a tiny bit fuller and tidier. Also if you don't like the look of your brows when you fill them in and think it's too harsh then I would really recommend Maybeline's Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara. I started to use this before I filled in my brows and it just helps to make your brows look tidier without them looking any darker!
Now onto the eyes... my favourite part :D
I took the colour Devotion from my Undress Me Too Palette and applied it to the inner corner of my eyelid and under the eye on the inner third. Then I took Tranquil and blended into Devotion and took it all over my lid and then continuing to take it under my eye on the middle third. Finally to achieve the slightly smokey effect, I took Fiery across the crease and blend into the other colours, also taking on the outer third under my bottom lashes slightly. If you think it's not quite dark enough then I think Wink would look good with this look, just blend a tiny bit through the outer edge of the crease. Now taking the eyeliner pencil, draw a thin line along your lash line. If you're a winged eyeliner kind of person then go for it! I personally struggle with doing wings with pencils as I prefer a strong black wing, however it can look so effective if done properly... so just give it a go!:)
Now - MASCARA! I really love the mascara I've been using recently, it doesn't clump, my lashes look individual and so much fuller! It's really worth the buy! But yeah apply to top and bottom lashes for the finished look!
Last but not least, spray some fixing mist mainly across the eyes but also across your whole face, apply some babylips peach kiss and then you're done and ready to go!
