Makeup tutorial...

It's about time that I did another one of these bad boys! Okay so last weekend I went to a party and for me that's just an excuse for me to try out some new ideas, and for Christmas I'd been given some new MUA eye palettes that I wanted to try out.

Before I start I just have to say that I didn't think this through properly before I went because I only took the one selfie before I went and I look completely out of it in all of the other photos that were taking on the night and so you can't get a great look at the full look. However you can roughly see what I was trying to achieve so I guess this is more about the products that I used.

Skin:

Natural Collection's Concealer and Tinted Moisturiser

NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder

Natural Collection's SunTint Bronzing Pearls in Tropical Tan

Natural Collection's Blushed Cheeks in Rosy Glow

Apply concealer under eyes and in any red areas or spots that you're trying to cover and then apple and blend tinted moisturiser all over face.

Dab powder all over face to reduce shine and dewiness.

Apply bronzer in a sweeping motion along cheekbones, top of the forehead, on the temples and also down along your jawline. I don't tend to use too much bronzer but some of you may want to make your cheekbones stand out a bit more so you just need to apply a bit more than I have.

Then dab blusher onto the apples of your cheeks and sweep upwards slightly along your bronzer line.

Finish by applying another finishing layer of powder just to lock everything in.

Eyes:

• Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer
• MUA Twelfth Night Winter Shades Palette
• MUA Hall Of Fame Palette
• Master Shape Eyebrow Pencil in blonde
• Master Precise Eyeliner
• Rimmel Wonder'full Mascara

• Some people like to apply their eye makeup before their face makeup, but it's just a case of preference.
• Fill in your eyebrows, I always forget where I left my sharpener so I always end up having to search for it! But I will rarely ever leave the house without filling in my eyebrows because if not then they look a bit bald because my hair is so light :')
• Using your fingers, rub some primer onto those lovely eyelids of yours. Then using the colour 'Shy' from the Hall of Fame palette, sweep across lid and right up to he brow.
• Then sweep the colour 'Frost' from the Twelfth Night palette onto the lid and carry on around the inner corner and under the eye slightly.
• Going along the outer half of your lid and then following into the crease is the colour 'Starshine' from Twelfth Night.
• To finish with eyeshadows, and using a fluffy blending brush, take 'Titan' from Hall of Fame to the outer corner and using small stokes to start off with, blend in to the crease. Taking an eyeliner brush, carry this down under the lower lash line.
• Create your perfect eyeliner look over the top... for this look I've gone for a fairly dramatic flick following the bottom lash line up into the flick.
• To finish, apply mascara.

Lips:

• Maybelline Super Stay 24 Colour (I think in the colour Rose Dust)

• Although currently I am in love with my red lipstick, I wanted to go for a more nude colour for this party as when I wear red lipstick I always avoid doing certain things like eating in case crumbs get stuck to it or it smudges... of course that's the truth ;) But with these, what you have to do is put on a coat of the colour, leave to dry and then put on the clear coat. It seriously lasts forever and is a girls best friends when it comes to all nighters as it stays on forever... just keep applying the clear coat every so often:)

Apology post...

So, it's been a while. In fact a while is a bit of an understatement. It's been 2, almost 3 months since I last posted and if I'm honest there's no real reason behind it. I mean there's been Christmas and New Years and loads of school work and a few parties but nothing that should have stopped me blogging, and so for that I'm truly sorry.

Anyway, I'm sure (I hope) those of you that enjoy my blog will forgive me and you don't really want this whole post to be about apologies and me trying to make up excuses. So I thought I'd do a

"What I've Been Up To" post...

So here we gooooo...

• Halloween - wow okay oh my goshhhh this really does feel like ages ago (and I did have a post planned about my makeup for this because I was so proud but I didn't, I might do it in the future, I'm not sure yet). So this halloween party was amazing, just you're average house party but there's just something about everybody being in fancy dress that feels really cool, and the atmosphere always feels great when you know just how much effort you've put into your own costume. I have to say, I was so proud of my costume! I went dressed as a porcelain doll, I'd seen so many posts of pinterest and it just looked really amazing, and I was very happy with how it actually turned out in the end.

• Lazer Tag Party ft. new lipstick - if you haven't been lazer tagging before then you haven't really lived. But since this is a makeup blog then I'm not going to talk to you about how many kills I got or how many times I fell over... I'm going to tell you about this fab new lipstick I bought. It's Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in shade 107 and it is perfect. I have not yet found a fault to it. It's a beautiful shade, stays on forever and smells gorgeous (that's probably not the factor that's going to make you buy it but it smells like the raspberry body butter from Body Shop which is also an amazing buy). Before I'd bought this, I'd never really worn lipstick before but now I've changed the way I do my makeup in order to suit it. I've been doing more natural smokey eye looks so not to overload my face, because big eye makeup and bright lips can be too much. But sometimes, giving lipstick a miss and just sticking with eye makeup is the way to go. Go go go buy yourself one of these, and if you've never really tried lipstick before then go to your nearest Boots, Superdrug, etc and just try a load of different shades on the back of your hand and go for it. GO CRAZY GIRL!

• CLOTHES SHOW LIVE - god damn it, I also had a super long post for this planned but it's got to be quick. Basic run down... always take more money then you plan on spending, however much money you take will not be enough for everything you'd like because everything is beautiful, the vintage and makeup sections are probably where all of your money will be spent, the chocolate fountain and waffles are to die for, the main catwalk is pretty damn great and the dancing was amazing, don't necessarily queue for ages to meet celebrities because shopping is the main priority and lastly we did manage to meet Binky from MIC.

• Losing my Bubble Tea Virgini-tea - just before Christmas I went to Camden for the very first time and absolutely loved it, I can't really understand how I hadn't been before. I didn't buy too much, and for once I think I spent my money wisely. I had my very first Bubble Tea which was iced mocha with lychee bubbles and it was an interesting experience, I still haven't decided whether it's a good or a bad one. After we went to Camden, we went to Oxford street, mainly to see the Christmas lights and to experience the hussel and bussel of London life. Then we went ice skating at the Natural History Museum which had such a good atmosphere and was really great fun, would really recommend it. This was a perfect day.
  

• Daith piercing - you may know that last New Year, I had my tragus pierced, therefore I'm trying to start a tradition of getting a new piercing every year around this time. This time I got my daith pierced and I love it. I am in love with it and I couldn't be happier. I got a ring put straight in it which looks quite big from the side but isn't overly noticeable from straight on. I get asked quite a lot if it hurt and it didn't, I felt it of course but the pain was no where near as bad as I expected. It's very easy to clean and can be covered so easily if you need it to be covered for school or anything like that.

So... that marked the end of 2014 and I have a good feeling about 2015. There's a lot to look forward to, which means another post is coming up very soon and hopefully (if I keep on top of everything) many more to follow.
