Outfit & make up of the day...

So the other day I had a good face and outfit day and it made me rather proud:')

To keep it sweet and simple, I did the normal full face make up (as described in my autumn make up tutorial) but changed the gold autumnal colours for darker greys and purples, also adding in a very light grey/white for the highlight just under the brow.
As you can see I used quite bold eyeliner with this look, and for this I used my Barry M Liquid Liner.

OOTD:
Tartan scarf - Primark
Cropped denim shirt - Topshop
DIY ripped skinnies - Primark
White frilly socks (absolute must have) - Topshop
White cardigan - New Look

Scarfs are my favourites, Primark scarves I think are under £10 so grab yourself a few! Also New Look's scarf collection is beautiful this year:')

Autumn in a cup...

*Starbucks post alert*

Okay so this is my favourite time for Starbucks (that's a lie, it's always my favourite time for Starbucks) but autumn is great because it's cold and wet and holding a Starbucks is great for warming your hands and your body and your heart. Seriously.
But sadly it's also the time where I feel I have to ditch the frappes and turn to hot drinks, which isn't a bad thing it's just a bit sad to say goodbye to them.

SO BECAUSE I'VE NOT POSTED YET ABOUT STARBUCKS I'M GOING TO WRITE ABOUT MY FAVOURITE 3 HOT DRINKS WOO LETS GO!

3) White Caffe Mocha ~ omfg this is beautiful, really beautiful! Also white mocha frappes are to die for! They were my definite favourite for summer!

2) Vanilla Latte ~ this is my Dad's favourite, and so I have him to thank for introducing me! But also hazelnut lattes are pretty close to perfect'

1) PUMPKIN SPICED LATTE ~ also known as autumn in a cup for me;) I really love them oh my gosh, ahh! However make sure you stir it a lot otherwise you get an overload of spice at the end! Also I'm going to try my next one with an extra shot (and being a gold member I get this for free;) ) BUT GET ONE AND MAKE EVERYONE YOU KNOW BUY ONE BECAUSE THEY'RE FANDABBYDOSEY!

So...  enjoy your next trip to Starbucks:)

Autumn is finally here...

Okay so I find myself constantly saying how much I want it to be autumn because I love the idea of sitting in Starbucks with my pumpkin spiced latte, wearing oversized jumpers and then dancing in the rain because you're too wet to even worry about the rain anymore! However, just as you buy a new wardrobe of clothes, you have to do the same for makeup! As well as changing styles, it also means that buying waterproof products is also an absolute MUST.

Like in my autumn makeup tutorial, I used very autumnal colours which could be paired with a berry lip. I personally don't do this as I have rather small lips so wearing lipstick exaggerates this and it just doesn't look right! (for this I have found a few hints that I'll tell you about another day) but I seriously love berry lipsticks at the moment, especially with quite minimal eye makeup, a messy bun and a fluffy tartan scarf.

Looking at the autumn/winter makeup trends, things like completely nude looking makeup with drawing attention to the lashes is really in this year. I always end up turning to Cara Delevigne for help on this one as she has a natural beauty. What I love about Cara is that she can go for a really natural look but also go really crazy with some of the runway looks that you may not necessarily want to wear day to day...

The molten eye is unique and original but may not be pulled off by everybody! I haven't tried it yet, and I'm not sure if I'm planning on it, but with the right colour I'm sure it can really make your POP!

Finally, my absolute must have for the horrible British weather conditions is fixing mist! I wasn't sure at first wether this would actually work but it does! Its amazing! A definite must for your autumn/winter makeup collection!

Autumn make up look...

Unlike most people that will blog about make up, I'm not someone that will spend loads of money on one item of make up... I like to keep it fairly cheap! I love being able to buy a lot for a little rather than buying one item when I go out. Sometimes this backfires and I really see how cheap the makeup is, however most of the stuff I end up buying is actually okay!

So this is the look I went for today...

This is a fairly natural look for me as normally I'm a huge eyeliner kind of girl, but I think this is a look that's absolutely perfect for autumn! This autumn/winter very very plain make up is a big thing so going for the more natural looks is going to be key, however over the top eyeliner is also very in which is perfect for me, eeeek:')

Anyway, like I said, I like to keep things cheap so for this look I used:

  • Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer
    • (I naturally have really oily eyelids so any eye makeup ends up just sitting in the creases and just looks awful, but since I've been using this primer before applying my make up, everything stays in place perfectly and doesn't go anywhere)
  • Natural Collection's Concealer and Tinted Moisturiser
    •  (I personally don't like using foundation as it feels really heavy compared to tinted moisturiser and I also think that for just everyday looks this is enough)
  • MUA Pro Base Eye Primer
  • MUA Eyeshadow Palette Undress Me Too
  • NYC Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil Chocolate Brown
  • MUA Luxe Power Brow Fair
  • Rimmel Wonderfull Mascara
  • MUA Mosaic Bronzer Natural Glow Shade 1
  • NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder
  • MUA  Fixing Mist
  • {Babylips Peach Kiss}
~As you can tell I really love MUA at the moment, it's just so cheap but a fairly good quality! Also the brushes that I've been using recently are from Wilkinson's new collection and they're amazing! They're really soft and so much better than any of my other brushes!~

Here's how to do it:

Always always always moisturise before you do your makeup, otherwise it will really dry out your skin and nobody wants that:) Pop on some primer to your eyelids and any other areas where make up easily escapes. Then apply concealer under eyes and on any spots you really want to hide and blend outwards. Apply tinted moisturiser all over face and blend thoroughly so you don't get those dreaded lines round the outside of your face:) Dab some powder all over your face but focus mainly on the areas where your make up escapes to help hold it in place. If you're using the bronzer then apply along your jawline and on your temples.
I always do my eyebrows next and to do this I just follow the natural line of my brows and try and make them look a tiny bit fuller and tidier. Also if you don't like the look of your brows when you fill them in and think it's too harsh then I would really recommend Maybeline's Brow Drama Sculpting Mascara. I started to use this before I filled in my brows and it just helps to make your brows look tidier without them looking any darker!

Now onto the eyes... my favourite part :D

I took the colour Devotion from my Undress Me Too Palette and applied it to the inner corner of my eyelid and under the eye on the inner third. Then I took Tranquil and blended into Devotion and took it all over my lid and then continuing to take it under my eye on the middle third. Finally to achieve the slightly smokey effect, I took Fiery across the crease and blend into the other colours, also taking on the outer third under my bottom lashes slightly. If you think it's not quite dark enough then I think Wink would look good with this look, just blend a tiny bit through the outer edge of the crease. Now taking the eyeliner pencil, draw a thin line along your lash line. If you're a winged eyeliner kind of person then go for it! I personally struggle with doing wings with pencils as I prefer a strong black wing, however it can look so effective if done properly... so just give it a go!:)
Now - MASCARA! I really love the mascara I've been using recently, it doesn't clump, my lashes look individual and so much fuller! It's really worth the buy! But yeah apply to top and bottom lashes for the finished look!
Last but not least, spray some fixing mist mainly across the eyes but also across your whole face, apply some babylips peach kiss and then you're done and ready to go!

here's the final look :)
